A little history

Named After:
Leonardo of Pisa (also known as Fibonacci)

Fibonacci:
Italian Mathematician

His Dates:
c. 1175 – c. 1250

Book:
The number sequence was included in his book Liber Abaci (1202).

India:
The sequence was described previously in India.

Fibonacci Numbers:
Starting with 1, 1 the next number in the sequence is the sum of the two before it.

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc.

For Example
1 + 1 = 2
1 + 2 = 3
2 + 3 = 5

The 0 is now often included as well.

Fibonacci Numbers in Popular Culture Includes:
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
